Jan Berdyszak
1934 - 2014 A Polish sculptor, painter, graphic artist, author of installations, stage designer, teacher, theoretician of art. A Professor at Poznan Academy of Fine Arts (at present: University of Arts in Poznań), Institute of Culture and Arts in Zielona Góra, and Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. A winner of Jan Cybis Award (1978). Decorated with the Knight?s Cross (1988) and the Officer?s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2001). A winner of the competition at the International Prague Quadriennale (1979), International Drawing Triennale, Wrocław (1992) and International Print Triennale, Fredrikstad (1995).
Works in collection: National Museums in Warsaw, Kracow, Wrocław, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Staatliches Museum in Berlin, UNESCO Collection in Paris, The Kościuszko Foundation in New York, Museum of Fine Art in Boston, Pushkin Museum in Moscow.
