Maria Michałowska
1925–2018 An artist, pioneer of conceptual art and action art in Poland, author of spatial objects and installations. Her works represent geometric abstraction and minimal art. Author of texts about art. A graduate of the PWSSP in Wrocław (1957). From 1958 to 1995 she worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology. She was a member and co-founder of Grupa Wrocławska (1965–1976). She was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit in 1980 and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1990.
