Aleksander Kobzdej
1920–1972 A Polish painter, graphic artist, illustrator, stage designer. A Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Decorated with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1954) and the Gold Cross of Merit (1952). A winner of the competition at the 5th Biennale in São Paulo (1959) and Gottfried Herder award (1966).
Works in collections i.a.: National Museum in Warsaw, Kra- kow, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Guggenheim Musuem in New York, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Musee d'Art Mo- derne w São Paulo, Rockefeller Collection, G.David Thompson Collection, Sammlung Beitz in Essen.
