Bronisław Kierzkowski
1924 – 1993 A Polish painter, creator of structural and relief compositions, pedagogue and professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. A student of Władysław Strzemiński, associated with post-war Polish neo-avant-garde and matter painting. His work evolved from synthetic landscapes and collages toward highly original abstract assemblages and textured reliefs created with industrial materials such as metal, wire, plaster and factory waste. One of the participants of the most important experimental artistic events in post-war Poland, including the 3rd Exhibition of Modern Art in Warsaw, the 1st Biennale of Spatial Forms in Elbląg and the Puławy Symposium of Artists and Scientists. Lecturer at art academies in Warsaw, Toruń and Lublin.
Works in collection i.a.: Museum of Art in Łódź, national and private collections in Poland, Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.
