Andrzej Szewczyk
1950–2001 Artist, painter, sculptor, draughtsman, author of assemblages and environment, poet, educator. A graduate of the University of Silesia, in Cieszyn (1978), where he later worked as an academic lecturer. Associated with the artistic community of Cieszyn, the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw and the Krzysztofory Gallery in Krakow. One of the most interesting artists of his generation, who creatively experimented with various techniques and materials (glass, mirror, maps, seals). The issues of writing, books and calligraphy were fundamental to his art.
