Andrzej Dłużniewski
1939–2012 Artist, painter, draughtsman, graphic artist, photographer, performer. Author of installations and literary forms, including concrete poetry. A graduate of the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1968). From 1970 he lectured at his alma mater. He was appointed the professor in 1991. From 1980 to 1991, together with his wife Emilia Małgorzata Dłużniewska, he organized exhibitions, lectures and meetings of artists from Poland and abroad, including presentations of the „Fluxus" group. Winner of the Katarzyna Kobro Award (2003) and the Jan Cybis Award (2006). He was a repre- sentative of conceptual art and was particularly interested in linguistics and semiotics.
