Kazimierz Mikulski
1918–1998 Painter, draughtsman, scenographer, illustrator, poet, actor. A leading representative of Surrealism in Polish art. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (until 1939), during the occupation he studied at the Staatliche Kunstgewerbeschule Krakau. He studied acting at the Dramatic Studio at the Stary Theater in Krakow (1945–1946). He performed as an actor in Tadeusz Kantor's Cricot 2 Theatre, of which he was a co-founder. Member of the II Kraków Group. Set designer and artistic director of the Groteska Theater in Krakow (1948–1979). Winner, among others, of the Award of the City of Krakow (1979) and the Honorary Award of the Polish Culture Foundation (1996).
