Teresa Pągowska

1926–2007 Painter, doctor honoris causa of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (2002). Recognized, long-term teacher of art schools: PWSSP in Gdańsk (1950-1964), PWSSP in Łódź (1971–1973), the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1973–1992). A representative of the New Figuration, associated with the “Réalités Nouvelles” and “Nouvelle Ecole de Paris” groups. Winner of the Alfred Jurzykowski Foundation Award (1990), the Jan Cybis Award (2001) and the Kazimierz Ostrowski Award (2002).

Works in collections i.a.:
National Museums in Warsaw, Krakow, Gdańsk, Kielce, Poznań, Wrocław, Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, District Museum in Bydgoszcz, District Museum in Radom, Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
