Katarzyna Kobro
1898–1951 A Polish sculptor of German and Russian descent. Author of neoplastic Spatial Compositions, one of the most original phenomenon in the 20th-century world sculpture. She co-founded the largest avant-garde groups in Poland refer- ring to Malewicz’s Constructivism and Supremacism – Blok (i.a. Władysław Strzemiński, Teresa Żarnowerówna, Mieczysław Szczuka), Praesens (Bohdan Lachert, Symon Syrkus) and a.r (Henryk Stażewski, Jan Brzękowski, Jan Przyboś). She was involved in AbstractionCreation and Internationaler Ring der neuen Werbegestalter associations.
Works in collections i.a.: National Museum in Warsaw, Krakow, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
