Erna Rosenstein
1913–2004 Painter and poet. A leading representative of Sur- realism in Polish art. She worked in paintings, assemblages, drawings, objects and art books. She has published seven books of poems, including “Ślad” (1972) and “Spoza granic mowy” (1976). She studied at the Frauen Akademie in Vienna (1932–34) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (1934–1936). Associated with the II Kraków Group, Krzysztofory Gallery in Kraków and the Krzywe Koło Gallery in Warsaw. She took part in the “Złote Grono” Symposia in Zielona Góra and the “The Plein Air” in Osieki. Winner of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award (1976) and the Jan Cybis Award (1996 ).
