Wanda Gołkowska

1925–2013 Artist, pioneer of conceptual art and op art. She worked in painting, drawing, spatial forms. A graduate of the PWSSP in Wrocław (1952), where she was a lecturer for many years. In 1991, she received the title of full professor. She co-founded the “Search for Form and Color” group and the “Wrocław Group”. She participated in all the most important events of the Polish avant-garde, e.g. in “The Plein Air” in Osieki (1964–1981), the Wrocław’70 Visual Arts Symposium, the 1st Biennale of Spatial Forms in Elbląg (1965), the Symposium of Visual Artists and Scientists in Puławy (1966).

Works in collections i.a.: National Museums in Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Poznań, Katowice, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Museum of Architecture in Wrocław, The Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, District Museum in Chełm, Museum of the Lubusz Land in Zielona Góra, Museo Vosteu in Malpartida, Spain, Museum Modern Art in Hüfeld, Germany, Microhall Art Center, Edewecht, Germany, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen in Dresden.
