Tomasz Ciecierski
b. 1945 Painter, author of drawings, collages, and photographs. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1971. From 1972 to 1985, he was a lecturer at his alma mater. He was associated with galleries such as Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, Wetering Galerie in Amsterdam, and Galerie Hans Strelow in Düsseldorf. He received the Jan Cybis Award in 1999. In the 1980s, he abandoned the narrative way of painting and focused mainly on landscapes. He creates relief compositions consisting of layers of oil paintings.
Works in collections i.a.: Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, National Museums in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, CSW Zamek Ujazdowski in Warsaw, CSW in Toruń, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom, European Parliament.
