Karol Komorowski

The Same for the Same

February 27 - March 16, 2017

The places of reality with no support in language are the enthropising body’s points of action. “The Same for the Same” has become a lofty idea owing to which a chance, “the process of abstracting the Thing”, can be measured. It is time to face this part of feeling that no longer depends on you. The original impulse may be technically the same but it encounters the impossibility of a true repetition. The situation is saved by the uniqueness of an object but such idealism complicates the matter even more. It is not easy to say what is what: the only thing certain is the apparatus of automating relativisation, which can be abandoned for the same reason.

Using abstract forms, the artist marks the presence of “variables”, thus excluding the ideal repeatability of the final effects. The adopted green rectangle and the attempt to apply a grey element on it in successive variants creates a new quality every time. Paper and printing ink are yet more factors influencing the final perception/effect.
