In the paintings devouring reality, I take up themes that often occur in painting: still life, landscape, religious painting, etc. Yet, instead of painting what inspires the artist on the canvas, I decided to enclose it there. The reason is partly the sense of incapability to paint the same motifs the thousandth time and partly the spirit of contrariness and deepest realism. Reality is captivated in the canvas. Items are small collections that I gather for each painting. I want them to have been used before, that is to encompass someone’s history, energy.
