The pace of the everyday life, practicism, and overstimulation make it increasingly more difficult to focus and look inside oneself. The artist is seeking a form that will gently stop the viewer, let him or her take breath rather than aggressively fight over his or her attention. When the hustle and bustle calms down, the space for imagination, sensitivity, intuition opens. Michał Mackiewicz’s minimalist installation is a combination of painting, graphic arts, lighting techniques, and design. There is a place for breathing in the appeased space of his paintings. The unevident statement hidden in misty greys, subtle whites, or submerged in the deep black leaves the space for imagination. The reserved and seemingly static compositions are moved by light. Numerous rays and reflections build up tension, impart dynamics, draw attention, and provoke eyes to wander ceaselessly. The artist puts a special emphasis on technical mastery, precision, and quality.
