The ZENspace 2.0 project focuses on the phenomenon of substituting relaxation in today's work environment. It encourages reflection on effective rest amidst the constant imperative of development and the pressure to outperform everyone, including oneself.
In my work, I demonstrate that relaxation under such conditions is difficult, if not impossible. I draw inspiration from mindfulness practices, which have been heavily commercialized to the extent that instead of the philosophy of the Far East, we receive merely a substitute, some product that we can consume immediately ("...place your finger on a point on your body and hold it for a few seconds to relieve stress...").
The project was developed in collaboration with artificial intelligence.
Kinga Dobosz (@unstable.context) – born in 1994; graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. An intermedia artist, she creates videos and installations. In her works, she constructs multi-threaded narratives that initially seem trivial and everyday but ultimately address global issues. She often creates multi-element installations using objects that complement each other. By employing the aesthetics of advertising or memes, according to the artist, she bridges the gap with the audience. She enjoys provoking amusement with her works, often with a perceptible bitter finish. A member of the Sen o końcu collective, she has participated in many festivals and solo and group exhibitions, including at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, Salony Foundation in Zielona Góra, Garaż Gallery in Łódź, WL4 Mleczny Piotr in Gdańsk, Trafostacja in Szczecin, Gdańsk City Gallery, and Labirynt Gallery in Lublin.
