Palm trees, a hammock, sunset, scented candles, incense, bells, a hot tub, accompanied by a drink with an umbrella – pop relax: the best on an all-inclusive holiday. But does relax mean only a reduced muscle tension and a kitschy setting straight outta Lomi lomi nui massage salon? First mentions about the notion of relax date back only to the 20th century. They tell about the necessity to adopt discipline to overcome distractions in everyday activities. In such a case the act of removing the tonus (muscle tension) alone might not necessarily be sufficient. It is an important factor to work on yourself and to align your brain with the rhythm of the alpha or theta waves, when the thoughts are inconsistent, the logic is blurred, similarly as in dreams. The soundtrack used in the installation is supposed to remind all about this state. It was composed of solfeggio vibrations, which were regarded as divine units already in the Antiquity. These frequencies contain secrets of Pythagorean mathematics and constitute the original musical scale, which was buried for 3000 years. Just like in the Fibonacci sequence, they conceal harmonic equations where all numbers can be reduced to the nine digits. These vibrations are to harmonise with our DNA and impact our subconsciousness. An integral part of the work is the colour – ultramarine, used for covering the screen plane. Originally ultramarine was the name for lapis lazuli, a mineral. Its properties are beneficial for human organism, it strengthens the lymphatic system, pituitary, cleanses the organism of toxins, mitigates stress symptoms and gives energy. It supports the struggle with melancholy.
