Bartek Górny
Untitled
7th - 26th October 2013

A drawing is a kind of a sketch, a thought map.

The composition begins at one end and freely continues along the roll of paper until it reaches its other end. Words, lines, spots appear. Certain elements are mimetic, some are limited to a contour, and others synthesised in the form of a sign. You can get the impression that it is an attempt to associate elements freely or automatically. Yet, there is something more to it. A thought consistently stratifies and expands. The human mind strives for orderliness, is capable of interpretation, recalls the necessary information, and classifies stimuli. What you can see here is the author’s own reinterpretation.

Only a fragment of “The Sketch” has been shown, some of its elements have been covered by other elements. A thought is verbalised anew and its final shape can come into existence only in the mind of the interpreting person.
