Natalia Jamróz

I am inspired by two seemingly conflicting topics. One is nature, from which I derive ideas and titles for my projects, e.g. “A Papierovka”, “A Venus Flytrap”, “An Anthill”, “A Paper-Tery”. The other is the broadly defined industry, factories, scrap yards, from where I obtain the material and then process it into a sculptural object. The case is similar in this project, where I set up my own plantation of paper using processed waste. The installation “A Paper-Tery” fits well in the space of the building, which, owing to its glass structure, architectural shape, and presence of greenery, evokes associations with a greenhouse. The plantation is regularly irrigated, as a result of which the installation subjected to the impact of water modifies its shape on its own.

Natalia Jamróz

Natalia Jamróz – born in 1990 in Kielce. A graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture, the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Krakow. Works with sculpture, drawing and small sculptural form. Creates in paper and metals. In her pieces of art, she touches upon the subject of ephemeral perishable art that at times stays in the memory only as a flashback. Her works, which are frequently shaped in a natural way, are subjected to the impact of time, which ultimately determines their form.
