In the world of insects, some species have developed a complex social structure. A colony is composes of a few different types of specimens, each of which is adapted to fulfilling a specific function. The essence of successful coexistence is hierarchical division of work and proper communication within a given community. Since they create a network of interdependencies the aim of which is the wellbeing of the whole group, they have been classified as social insects.
A Swarm is the painting interpretation of the idea of collective work enclosed within a set space, often consisting of anonymous individuals fulfilling designated functions depending on their capacities or positions held.
