Horizons

May 30 - June 17, 2016

The Horizons project refers to correlations between architecture and natural structure. The impossibility to combine the scale and character of natural phenomena with the logic of a closed architectural form is one of the most significant points of reference for a painting installation. This is because an abstract concept refers to a seeming impression of a meeting point of the horizon and earth. The problem of framing the natural space, limitations in perceiving reality, association between nature and architecture, permeation of these disciplines gives the recipient a field for further interpretations. The works present an attempt to cut out the natural space by the “artist’s scalpel” and adapt it to architectural forms. The whole installation becomes in a way another element of the architecture of the building’s interior. The vegetation inside and the surroundings of the building have been “absorbed” in a controlled manner into the oval forms of paintings, which irregularly expand in the space despite the architectural logic. The pieces of art make one organism, which, depending on the point of observation and the light changing throughout a day, leads the recipient to various interpretation tracks.
