Edition 3
The 3rd edition of the "Wena" Grant Program competition of the Starak Family Foundation in the school year 2021/2022 - a competition for an educational and artistic project entitled "The world from my window". The implementation of the awarded projects is underway.
The task of the competition was to prepare educational and artistic projects. The inspiration was: the perception of the world and people changed by the pandemic, through a literal and metaphorical "window". The traditional, analog, as well as digital window. We invited young people to experiment with different materials, forms, and means of artistic expression and to formulate a social message in response to the questions: What has become important? What have we not seen before, but now we look at with great insight? What new possibilities, opportunities have emerged? Can we get to know each other better, convey a message, respond to local or global issues? On the basis of observation and exchange of observations, can we create chronicles of the present time, marked by isolation and loneliness?
The 3rd edition of the Competition was held under the patronage of the film by the legendary Polish artist Józef Robakowski titled "From my window". For over 20 years the artist recorded the scenes from his kitchen window that occurred in front of his house. This artistic record was meant to inspire people to find their own forms of expression and submit their own projects. The awarded projects were ground for joint activities, for being together with other students, teachers, or the local community, which after a time of isolation was of great importance for the reconstruction of disturbed relations.
At the time of announcing the 4th edition of the Competition, two projects have been completed. Others are in progress. We present the "HydeArt" project of the General School of Fine Arts in Golub-Dobrzyń and the "Let's Meet Again" project of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Visual Arts School Complex in Lublin.
