Third Edition

"Building DioRama" - a series of works consisting of dioramas showing the outside world from the window. The project involves the construction of 3 professional dioramas. These will be spatial models of imaginary and unreal worlds seen through "window frames”. The project will be expanded to include short animations and artistic photography. By working in an environment other than school, in this case in a professional company run by graduates of our school, the students will gain the practice necessary nowadays.

The aim of the proposed workshops will be for youth to work with an object and to focus on rebuilding the manual workshop. For the last few years students of our art high school have spent a large amount of time in front of computers. Unfortunately, this has caused great deficiencies in proper sensitivity to the perception of the nature of matter and all the skills resulting from joyful „tinkering" have been neglected. I would like our youth to have the opportunity to gain experience in a real model workshop, where under the supervision of specialists they will be able to feel at least a substitute of joy from contact with matter other than what computer design has to offer for them.

I would like the youth to rediscover the values resulting from playing together in modeling their own imaginary worlds. I think that we will be able to work out the lost sense of haptics very quickly and we will awake all those areas that have been dormant for the last time".

Konrad Juściński, PhD - teacher leading the project, conducts artistic activity in the field of spatial forms and performance, currently a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. The second teacher leading the project will be Professor Anna Jabłońska - a teacher of photography and film.
