"Horizons" Scholarship Programme

The Art of Nature - Integration of Scholarship Holders of the “Horizons” Program 2025

Nature is a great work of art! This was confirmed by the recipients of the first year of the “Stypendium Horyzonty” scholarship program organized by the Starak Family Foundation and the EFC Foundation.

On August 27, 2025, we welcomed young people to our Foundation who were starting secondary school on September 1 in Białystok, Warsaw, Olsztyn, Krakow, Wrocław, Szczecin, Zielona Góra, and Lublin. The students were accompanied by coordinators and friends from older years of the Program.

The integration partner was the Herbapol brand. You've got it in your nature, whose representative, Anna Radowicka, PR & Social Media Manager, prepared an engaging presentation of the brand's new products that appealed to young people. During the presentation, we talked, among other things, about the differences between tea and herbal tea.

For over 70 years, our greatest inspiration for Herbapol products has been nature. You have it in your nature. It is the source of the best raw materials and a daily dose of inspiration for creating unique flavor combinations, emphasized Anna Radowicka.

She was accompanied by Ksenia Kasachova from Belarus, a psychology student and intern in Herbapol's marketing department. She shared her experience with the participants.

I create social media posts and press articles. The internship gives me great practice. I highly recommend this form of gaining experience before entering the job market, said Ksenia.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the interests and needs of young people, at a time when the Starak Family Foundation is working on a formula for internships for graduates of the Horizons Scholarship, who are active in the EFC and FRS Alumni Association.

A highlight of the event was a lecture by Dr Artur Zagajewski, a botanist, soil scientist, and plant enthusiast. He created a natural setting in the office space using branches of oak, ginkgo, tulip tree, horse chestnut, dogwood, fir, and pine trees straight from the Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Powsin - Botanical Garden in Powsin Warsaw. During the meeting, the delicate scent of essential oils filled the air, and the expert gave a passionate presentation on the symbolism and properties of trees.

A wonderful, inspiring lecture! Now we will walk through gardens and forests with a deeper awareness. I am already planning such a walk with my charges in Powsin, led, of course, by Dr. Zagajewski, summarized Antonina Federowicz, coordinator of Warsaw scholarship holders.

In the practical part, the educators from Pracownia Zaradne – Aleksandra and Daria – led a demonstration of how to make tea balls, combined with an aromatherapy workshop. The participants prepared commemorative plaster pendants, which, sprinkled with essential oils, became natural scent diffusers.

Combining science with art, we visited the temporary exhibition “GRUPPA, Whoever wanted to know everything will see nothing,” organized by the Starak Family Foundation / Spectra Art Space at the headquarters of the Starak Family Foundation, presenting the works of one of the most distinctive artistic groups of the 1980s in Poland, from the collection of Anna and Jerzy Starak.

The scholarship holders also visited the Wena Gallery, where the exhibition “Our Atlas. Places and roads on the mental and physical map of life” is currently on display, prepared by their peers from the Secondary School of Fine Arts at ZSP 6 Piotrków Trybunalski. The project was awarded in the sixth edition of the “Wena” Grant Program Competition of the Starak Family Foundation.

We wish all scholarship recipients who are starting secondary school good luck, the opportunity to develop their passions, and to take full advantage of the opportunities and potential offered by the cities where they will be studying!
