III Edition
The Starak Family Foundation is pleased to announce the completion of the 3rd edition of the nationwide competition within the frame of the "Wena" Grant Programme for an artistic-educational project to be realized in the school year 2021/2022.
On 26 June in Zakopane, the Competition Jury awarded 10 projects for their educational, artistic and social values and recommended awarding them with financial grants. You can read about this year’s laureates and their projects in the tab below.
Contest theme: "The world from my window”
It is through windows that light, sounds and scents enter our homes. It is thanks to digital windows that the world is sipping inside our houses, with uninterrupted streams of images and texts. How far do we reach out and see through them? What has become important to us, what new opportunities and chances have occurred? Are we able to get to know each other better thanks to those windows? Can we send a message to our friends, and maybe even respond to local and global problems? Looking through those windows, not only do we see the current reality, but also look for a better future…
The main task of this year’s edition of the contest was to prepare an original, individual artistic-educational project that would refer to the theme of perceiving the world and the people affected by the pandemic through the motif of a window, interpreted both literally and metaphorically. The ‘window’ – both in its traditional, analogue form, as well as in its metaphorical, digital aspect – becomes a frame through which we perceive the world around us.
This year’s edition of the contest also alludes to the film “From My Window” by the legendary Polish artist, Józef Robakowski. Over the course of over 20 years, the artist had recorded scenes happening in front of his house, as seen from his kitchen window. A seemingly insignificant recording of reality was thus turned into an unusual documentary. Let this artistic recording be an inspiration for you to find your own forms of expression and submit your individual projects.
The maximum amount of the financial grant is PLN 16,000.00.
