Kunszt programme
KUNSZT Craftsmanship is a programme to support new artistic craft. It is targeted at creators working in the field of design and manufacture of utility and decorative objects.
The objective of the programme is to foster the development of innovative design thought and experimental work with materials. The programme is intended to encourage the pursuit of original ideas, giving them a chance to come to fruition and thereby be a testament to the potential of handmade utility objects. The programme is also to serve as an area for the exchange of experiences and the sharing of knowledge about artistic craft.
It is a programme about people and the things they create; about the relationship between the work and the craftsman and designer. We want to showcase the potential of these relationships, which are rooted in the history of manufacturing, and in doing so achieve the Foundation’s statutory objectives involving the protection and promotion of historical and cultural resources and increasing awareness of cultural heritage.
One of the activities under the Craftsmanship programme will be competitions organised by the Starak Family Foundation, which will give creators an opportunity to carry out unique projects. They will be prepared as competition tasks formulated each year. The projects submitted in the competition will be assessed by the Programme Jury in line with set criteria.
