The project by the Jacek Malczewski School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa entitled „Mozaikowy zawrót głowy”or "Mosaic Vertigo" was awarded in the 4th edition of the "Wena" Grant Programme Competition. "Mosaic Vertigo" is an intergenerational concept. It assumes the artistic integration of students from art schools of Polish-Ukrainian origin and the involvement of primary school students.
The project will begin with the creation of a bas-relief by Polish-Ukrainian youth from a Częstochowa visual arts school. The work will be displayed in one of Częstochowa's primary schools. The ceramics forming this installation will be made during workshops, where Polish and Ukrainian children will make simpler, technically uncomplicated mosaic elements (e.g. letter and handprints). The next stage will be the making of tiles by the school's students, according to designs approved - by the ceramics and sculpture teachers. The final stage will be the installation of the tiles on the wall under the supervision of the teachers teaching the mural course. The project will conclude with a presentation of photographic documentation of the full creative process of the task.
The project is characterised by positive educational values, such as learning about a form of artistic expression, learning modular ceramic composition, developing social and teamwork skills, broadening general and specialised knowledge and expanding their interest in new forms of artistic expression, particularly in ceramics.
