“More light” competition – announcement of the results of the 1st stage

The finalists of the More Light, 2023 edition of the competition are now being announced. The Programme Committee, in assessing the submitted work proposals, paid attention to the guiding idea, marking the way from inspiration to conception of the final project.

The finalists of the “More light” competition under the Craftsmanship programme, edition 2023, were:

Sebastian Pietkiewicz • Candelabra from Karkonosze

Zuzanna Spaltabaka • Cybersigilism

Aleksandra Zawistowska • Plasmic

The number of submissions, the variety of utilised materials and concepts demonstrated the huge potential behind the collaboration between designers and craftsmen, as well as the reshaping of the aesthetics of a concept – from its inception, through the creation process, to the final work. In assessing the submissions, the Programme Jury paid attention to the underlying idea, marking the path from inspiration to conception of the final project. Key elements in the assessment were both the visualisation of the creators’ idea supported by a coherent description of the concept’s inception, as well as the nature of the final objects, the manufacture of which will require the creators to demonstrate outstanding skills in working with materials, supported by craftsmanship. The highly assessed qualities were the originality of solutions, the combination of materials and the experimental approach to the creation process.
